Authors register as regular participants. You can find the participation prices here https://iv2022.com/registration You will receive discounts if you are enrolled at a university in June 2022, have an IEEE or ITS membership. No other discounts will be granted.
If you have successfully registered via the website, you will receive a short, automatic confirmation by e-mail. Please register only once. Within 2 business days we will book you into our participant management system and you will receive a detailed email with your booked services and instructions for payment. After we receive your payment, you will be unlocked in papercept to make your final submission.
Manuscripts of 6 pages including all references etc. are free of charge. Additional pages are subject to a fee. Manuscripts of up to 10 pages will be charged at €100/extra page. Enter a number between 0 and 4 in the participation form, depending on whether and how many extra pages your manuscript has.
Please wait to prepare for the conference whether you will be presenting in the oral session or poster. Then note the requirements for your contribution here.
We apologize for technical issues with the copyright transfer. These are now solved and we allow uploading of the final manuscript by authors until May 6th. Authors may also upload a video with their manuscript with a maximum length of 3 minutes showing results or the like.
We have two kinds of possible video uploads – Paper videos and Presentation videos:
Paper video: a three minute video attachment (max. 10MB) is accepted with the final paper upload. This needs to be uploaded with the paper, i.e. keeping the same deadline.
Presentation video: We expect presenters to be in Aachen in order to allow for a real discussion with real people. As of today Germany hasn’t any Covid restrictions in place that would prevent a participation. If some scientists cannot travel due to severe Covid restrictions in their home country, a 15 min video upload will be enabled instead of a ***Poster*** presentation. Deadline for this upload will be May 31st. However, we very much encourage physical participation for scientific discussions.
Please wait to prepare a presentation video until you know whether you will be presenting in the oral session or poster. Then note the requirements for your contribution here.
Authors may upload attachements e.g. video files if they submitted them for review. IEEE prohibits material that has not been peer reviewed to be uploaded to Xplore.
So if you did not submit an attachement for review in the initial submission, it was not reviewed and therefore may not be uploaded with the final paper.
The camera-ready copy of the manuscript is the final version of your paper (IEEE Xplore takes only US letter format). This submission is mandatory for all authors, the virtual presentation video is not.
About 10% of the submissions will be selected for an oral presentation, the rest will get a slot in poster sessions. The oral session will be filled only by authors presenting their paper on site, no presentation video is required here. We will provide a monitor to all poster presenters this year instead of space for a printed poster to show more if desired. Poster presenters who are unable to travel must provide a presentation video (max. 15 minutes).
The preliminary program will be published at the end of April. Please wait with your preparation until you know if you have received a slot in the oral program or in a poster session. Then note the requirements for your contribution here.

A co-author registers with the second paper (recommended) or you pay an additional 395€ for your second paper. The participation prices also for a digital-only participation can be found here https://iv2022.com/registration You will receive discounts if you are enrolled at a university, have an IEEE or ITS membership. If you are an author, we would be very pleased if you could present your paper on site in Aachen. If this is really not possible for you, we offer you the possibility to upload a presentation video (information will follow). However, you will then not receive a presentation slot, but one in a poster session.
Please send an email to iv22@ika.rwth-aachen.de just if your paper cannot be presented in Aachen in person neither by one of the authors nor a colleague. The email should just contain your paper number and “video presentation” in the header and you should prepare such a presentation of 15 min duration. Afterwards, in the oral Session we will have 5 min Q&A where you should be answering questions via a video tool.
You will receive a link from us where you can upload the video by the end of May at the latest. We also ask that you provide us with a Vimeo or Youtube link to embed the video into the event app.
No, publication of the paper does not require on-site participation.
